The male red kangaroo (Macropus rufus) of central, southern and eastern Australia measures up to 1.8 m (5 ft 11 in) tall when standing in the normal position, and up to 2.85 m (9 ft 4 in) in total length (including the tail). It weighs up to 90 kg (198 lb) in exceptional cases.
