Hardest flash ascent (female)

- Who
- Janja Garnbret
- Where
- Spain (Oliana)
- When
- 01 November 2021
The hardest flash ascent by a female climber was achieved by Janja Garnbret (Slovenia), who on 1 November 2021 climbed "Fish Eye" – a route in Oliana, Spain, graded 5.14b. Later on the same trip, Garnbret also flashed a second 5.14b, called "American Hustle".
A Flash ascent is a complete climb of an entire route on the first attempt. Climbers can have studied the route and watched others beforehand, but not touched any of the holds. Garnbret's climb of "Fish Eye" was actually an even more challenging sub-category known as an "onsight" – which is where a climber completes a route first time, with minimal preparation and no information on techniques (such as might be gleaned from watching another climber).
