The highest-scoring Olympic dive was a forward 4 1/2 somersaults earning 112.75 points, performed by Yang Jian (China) in the men's 10 m platform at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games on 7 August 2021.
Yang surpassed Australia's Matthew Mitcham's 112.10-point dive at the 2008 Beijing Olympics with his effort in the final round of the men’s 10 m platform. But he had to settle for silver behind Cao Yuan, who became the first diver to win gold medals in three different Olympic events. Yang has been practising the dive since 2013.
