“All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)” by Taylor Swift (USA) clocks in at 10 minutes 13 seconds. The extended version of the mid-tempo ballad, which originally appeared as a 5-minute 29-second non-single album track on Swift’s 2012 studio LP Red, debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on 27 November 2021 after logging 54.4 million streams, 292,000 radio airplay audience impressions and 57,800 downloads in the USA in its first week (12-18 November).

The re-recorded album Red (Taylor’s Version), which debuted atop the Billboard 200 in the same week (chart dated 27 November 2021), also featured a re-recorded 5-min 29-sec version of the original “All Too Well” in addition to the record-breaking 10-minute rendition. Both versions contributed to the title’s first-week US streaming/sales totals.

The single was accompanied by All Too Well: The Short Film, starring Sadie Sink, Dylan O’Brien and Swift, which premiered on 12 November. The film, directed by Swift, doubled up as the official video for “All Too Well”.

“All Too Well” was co-written by Swift and long-time collaborator Liz Rose (“Teardrops on My Guitar”, “Fearless”, “White Horse”, “You Belong with Me”).

“All Too Well” was the highest of Swift’s 26 new entries on the Hot 100 on 27 November 2021, shattering her own record for the most simultaneous US Hot 100 entries by a female (previously 18 tracks from Lover on 7 September 2019, equalled by Summer Walker’s 18 hits from Still Over It on 20 November 2021).

Don McLean’s “American Pie”, at 8 min 37 sec, was previously the longest US chart-topper, ruling the roost for four weeks from 15 January 1972. “All Too Well” narrowly missed out on becoming the longest Hot 100 entry of all time, clocking in eight seconds shorter than rock band Tool’s minor hit from 2019, the 10-min 21-sec “Fear Inoculum”.
