Most wins of the World Bog Snorkelling Championships (male)

The most wins of the World Bog Snorkelling Championships is six, achieved by Neil Rutter (UK) between 2017 and 2025, with the most recent title claimed on 24 August 2025.

The competition has taken place at the Waen Rhydd peat bog near Llanwrtyd Wells in Powys, UK, every year since 1985, excluding 2020 and 2021 during the COVID-19 restrictions.

Teacher and two-time cancer survivor Rutter technically retired from the sport in 2023 but couldn't resist staging a comeback in 2025, blaming it on the "bog bug".

During his 2023 victory, Rutter also secured the fastest time to swim the 120-yard (55-m; 180-ft) World Bog Snorkelling Championship course, crossing the finish line after two lengths of the water-filled trench after 1 minute 12.35 seconds on 27 August 2023.
