Most films nominated for BAFTA awards in one year

A total of 56 films – 48 feature films and eight short films – were nominated for the 75th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTAs). Dune (USA, 2021), starring Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, led the field with 11 nods including Best Film, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Costume Design. The Power of the Dog (New Zealand/Greece/UK/USA/Australia, 2021) received eight nominations, while Kenneth Branagh’s Belfast (UK/USA, 2021) made the shortlist in six categories. The 75th edition of the film BAFTAs was staged at the Royal Albert Hall in London, UK, on 13 March 2022.

The previous year’s BAFTAs, 2021’s 74th edition, saw a record 50 films nominated. Nomadland (USA, 2020) won four awards, including Best Film and Best Actress in a Leading Role (Frances McDormand as Fern).
