On 29-30 January 1955, India bowled 187.5 first-innings overs against Pakistan (328 all out) without conceding any runs in extras (no balls, wides, byes or leg byes). The match took place at Lawrence Gardens (now Bagh-e-Jinnah) in Lahore, Pakistan, and featured an astonishing 73.5 overs from Subhash Gupte, 46 from Ghulam Ahmed and 44 from Vinoo Mankad – all spin bowlers who between them took eight Pakistan wickets (the other two were run-outs).

Pakistan’s first innings 328 in Lahore was the highest team score in a Test match containing no extras until it was beaten by India’s 329 in the Second Test against England in Chennai, India, on 13-14 February 2021.
