Most wins in an NBA season

The best-ever regular season record by an NBA team is 73 wins and 9 losses by the Golden State Warriors (USA) in the 2015–16 season between 27 October 2015 and 13 April 2016.

The Golden State Warriors eclipsed the legendary Chicago Bulls team led by Michael Jordan that won 72 games 20 years previous (1995–96 season). The Warriors have their own hero in Stephen Curry who finished leading scorer with 2,375 points and an individual record of 402 3-point field goals.

Both the Bulls of 1996 and the Warriors of 2016 are the only NBA teams in history to record at least 70 regular season wins.

The Warriors started with a 24-game winning streak until finally being defeated on the road to the Milwaukee Bucks. The other defeats on the road were against Dallas Mavericks, Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Portland Trail Blazers, Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs.

At home they lost just twice to Boston Celtics and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
