Jochen has been competing in endurance sport since 1991, focusing on running, triathlon and ultra triathlon.
However, his main sporting focus is inline skating. Jochen trained six days a week, two of those days consisting of inline skating, as he likes to mix it up with cycling and running.
When asked what challenges he faced on the day, Jochen explained that he experienced high winds. As drafting is not allowed in this attempt, the wind ultimately slowed him down... but not enough so he didn't beat the record!
