The oldest NFL coach is Romeo Crennel (USA, b. 18 June 1947), who coached the Houston Texans against the Tennessee Titans on 3 January 2021 aged 73 years 199 days.
The Texans suffered a 41–38 loss against the Titans. Crennel had become the oldest-ever NFL coach, aged 73 years 115 days, during the Texans’ 30-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars on 11 October 2020. He broke the record held by George Halas, who was 72 years and 318 days old when he coached the final game of his career on 17 December 1967.
