Hamilton became the most successful driver in Formula One history equalling Michael Schumacher's record for championship wins as well as holding the record for the most race wins in the history of the sport. Hamilton tied up his seventh World Championships with a dominant display at the Turkish Grand Prix on 15 November 2020, winning his 94th career Grand Prix and extending his lead at the top of the championship to a huge 110 points.
