Introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield, released for the Nintendo Switch on 15 November 2019, this special boss version of the legendary Pokémon Eternatus (no. 890) has taken the crown for most powerful Pokémon to appear in the series. It has a total base stat of 1125, ousting the former occupant of the summit of the Pokémon-power pile, Mega Rayquaza, which has a total base stat of 780.
The "base stat" of a Pokémon is compiled by adding together their ratings for the six main characteristics: HP (hit points), Attack, Defence, Special Attack, Special Defence, and Speed. The Pokémon with the lowest base stat is the solo form of Wishiwashi.
