On 17 May 2025, Nour El Sherbini defeated her compatriot Hania El Hammamy 11–5, 11–9, 4–11, 11–7 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. It was El Sherbini's 10th consecutive world championship final and her 11th in total; David triumphed in all eight finals she played in.
