A film poster for a Walt Disney's film short Alice's Day At Sea, released on 1 March 1924 and depicting Alice astride a fish above the waves, was sold at Christie's, London, UK in April 1994 for £23,100 (then US$34,072).
The film, about a live action girl acting in cartoonland, was completed in 1923 and cost $750 to make. In it marked the debut for Julius the cat, though he was not named.
The film was the start of the 'Alice Comedies' series of 56 silent cartoons created between 1924 and 1927.
