Steffi Graf (Germany) contested 13 successive Grand Slam singles finals between the 1987 and 1990 French Opens. The achievement, unmatched by any player in the history of Grand Slam tennis, included nine of her 22 singles titles.
Graf won two French Open (1987–88), three Australian Open (1988-90), two Wimbledon (1988–89) and two US Open (1988–89) titles while compiling her 13-final run, which was halted by Zina Garrison in the Wimbledon semi-finals in 1990.
Roger Federer contested 10 consecutive Grand Slam finals between the 2005 Wimbledon final and the 2008 US Open final and Australia’s Jack Crawford reached seven successive finals in 1933–34, but nobody else has come close to Graf’s mark.
