Microsoft's pirate-'em-up Sea of Thieves (2018) has a notoriously difficult list of achievements. Xbox Achievements tracking site TrueAchievements has estimated that earning every single one in the MMORPG would require "several thousand hours of playing time" – more than any other estimate for any other game. In the end, the estimation proved a little high, with Xbox gamer "Zyx" taking around 2,000 hours to unlock all 60 of the game's achievements – a feat he completed on 17 November 2018. In an interview with TrueAchievements on 21 November 2018, "Zyx" said that the Merchant Forager achievement, that requires players to deliver 1,000 banana crates, was the "most gruelling," though the gamer said it was made slightly easier by a patch to Sea of Thieves that made messages in bottles appear more frequently. To mark his achievement, Microsoft gave "Zyx" a treasure trove of Sea of Thieves-themed goodies, including a controller and book.
