Most streamed track by a lead female artist on Spotify

Camila Cabello’s (USA, b. Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, Cuba) 2017 chart-topper “Havana”, feat. rapper Young Thug (USA, b. Jeffery Williams), had accrued 1,052,586,239 streams on Spotify as of 27 October 2018. No other track by a lead female artist is more popular on the streaming service.

Dua Lipa’s “New Rules” (980,536,156) and Sia’s “Cheap Thrills” (947,245,480 streams) were the next most popular tracks by lead female musicians. Overall, Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” still leads the way, with 1,954,846,966 streams as of 27 October 2018.

“Havana” was the 14th most streamed track on Spotify as of 27 October 2018. The only females ranked higher were guest vocalists Kyla (UK, b. Kyla Smith), Halsey (USA, b. Ashley Frangipane), MØ (Denmark, b. Karen Marie Aagaard Ørsted Andersen) and Daya (USA, b. Grace Tandon), who, respectively, were credited on Drake’s “One Dance” (2nd), The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” (3rd), Major Lazer’s “Lean On” (6th) and The Chainsmokers’ “Don’t Let Me Down” (10th).
