The fastest pedal-powered tandem English Channel crossing is 6 hr 39 min 28 sec and was achieved by Michael Gower and Graham Earl (both UK) from Dover, UK to Escalles, France, on 4 October 2018.

Michael and Graham decided to attempt this record after seeing a newspaper article about people having to give up half way through their attempt to achieve the Guinness World Records title. They reached out to the pair who had made the unsuccessful attempt at this record before setting out. As well as providing advice the pair also donated their pedal-powered tandem craft "Dominic" to make the trip. The craft was named after a friend of the original pair who had passed away from Cancer.
