Mario Kart Arcade GP VR took kart racing to the next virtual level when it debuted on 14 July 2017 at VR Zone Shinjuku in Tokyo. Equipped with an HTC Vive virtual reality (VR) headset and seated in an interactive replica kart, gamers entered a virtual Mushroom Kingdom to compete in a multiplayer race as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi or Princess Peach. Mario Kart Arcade GP VR also represents the first Nintendo property to officially come to VR.
