The three quickest hundreds in T20 International (T20I) history were fashioned in 2024. The 33-ball efforts of Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton (for Namibia against Nepal on 27 February) and Sikandar Raza (captaining Zimbabwe against Gambia on 23 October) would have been good enough to claim the honour in any other year, but on 17 June, during a match against hosts Cyprus at Happy Valley Ground in Episkopi, Sahil Chauhan (Estonia, b. India) reached three figures off just 27 balls. The No.4 batter’s blitz featured 13 sixes. It took not only the T20I record, but was the fastest ton in any senior T20 match, toppling Chris Gayle’s 30-ball assault for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on 23 April 2013.
Chauhan finished 144 not out (in Estonia’s winning score of 194 for 4), a knock that featured the most sixes in a T20I innings – 18.
