Donkey Kong may have introduced jumping to the platforming genre back in 1981, but it was Namco's Dragon Buster in 1984 that took it to the next level with "double jumping". In it, hero Clovis became the first digital hero to pull off the physically impossible move and inspire gamers to reach new heights. Dragon Buster was released as an arcade game first and later appeared for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985.
