The most streamed track on Spotify within the first 24 hours of being released is “Fortnight (feat. Post Malone)” by Taylor Swift (both USA), which logged 25,204,472 filtered streams on 19 April 2024.
The opening track from Swift’s 15th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, surpassed the previous record holder, Adele’s “Easy on Me”, which secured 19,749,704 streams on 15 October 2021.
“Fortnight” led a top-16 clean sweep for the standard album’s 16 tracks on Spotify’s “Daily Top Songs Global” chart on 19 April. Combined, they registered 232,260,493 filtered streams in the first 24 hours, with a further 81,486,685 streams logged for the double album’s 15 extra tracks on the same day, for a grand total of 313,747,178 first-day spins for Swift’s highly anticipated new music.
