According to eSportsearnings.com, Dota 2 was the first videogame to pay out $100 million (£89,297,700) in tournament prize money. The MOBA, published by Valve, passed that milestone on 12 June 2017. More than $100 million had been given out to 1,952 players across 741 tournaments since 2013.
