Originally, the burpee didn’t involve a push-up or touching the chest to the floor, that was later introduced by the military and fitness trainers to increase difficulty.
Juan was confident he was going to surpass the previous record of 1,027; he mentions he was ready to show the world his skilled capacity of attempting so many burpees at once.
Juan says he's aware that he can do anything he sets his mind to, which is a great attitude to have as he surpassed the previous attempt by 51 burpees. He hopes this feat inspires Latinos everywhere to achieve their goals!
