Father and son Arnór (aged 34) and Eidur Gudjohnsen (aged 17) played together for the Iceland national football team versus Estonia on 24 April 1996. Eidur replaced his father in the second half from the substitute's bench, meaning that they were never on the pitch at the same time. The players were reportedly due to start the following international game together, but unfortunately Eidur broke his ankle ahead of the match.
