System Shock (Origin/Looking Glass, 1994, USA) was compatible with the Forte Technologies VFX1 virtual-reality headset. This head-mounted display could display System Shock in side-by-side stereo 3D. Unfortunately, the dual 0.7" 263x230 LCD screens didn't support a lot of fidelity and were only capable of displaying 256 colours. However, the VFX1 worked as advertised with System Shock, making it the first horror game to offer a VR experience.
