Highest-earning Bollywood actor (current)

According to Forbes, the highest-earning Bollywood star is current Akshay Kumar, aka Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia (Canada, b. India), who between 1 June 2017 and 1 June 2018 earned $40.5 million (£30.4 million). Kumar occupies the 76th slot in Forbes' 100 Highest-Paid Celebrities list and is the only Bollywood star listed.

Kumar's income stems largely from royalties from his 130+ movies and endorsements for some 20 different brands. His most popular release in the period covered by the Forbes research was the satirical comedy Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (Toilet – A Love Story; India, 2017), which tells the story of a newly wed husband who attempts to win back the affections of his wife by installing a flushing toilet in their home, against the wishes of their traditional Indian community.
