Brad Hogg (Australia, b. 6 February 1971) was 45 years 92 days old when he played for the Kolkata Knight Riders against the Gujarat Lions in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on 8 May 2016. Hogg is the oldest ever IPL cricketer – but only by eight months. Lions spinner Pravin Tambe (India, b. 8 October 1971) made his IPL debut at the age of 41 and was 44 years 219 days old when he turned out against Royal Challengers Bangalore on 14 May 2016.
Hogg is the sixth oldest Twenty20 player ever. Of the five men ranked above him, four played in the short-lived and controversial Stanford 20/20 tournament – including record holder Carlton Saunders, who played a single match for the Turks & Caicos Islands on 29 January 2008, at the age of 50 years 92 days.
Hogg is also the third oldest Twenty20 International (T20I) player, and the oldest to play at cricket's highest level. (Note: despite featuring players from different countries, the IPL is not regarded as an international tournament.) Hogg was 43 years 45 days old when he played for Australia against Pakistan on 23 March 2014.
