The highest salary paid by the UFC to a fighter for a single bout is US$3,000,000 (£2,313,297.61) achieved by Conor McGregor (Ireland) at UFC 202 for his rematch against Nate Díaz at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, on 20 August 2016.
McGregor's opponent at the event, Nate Díaz, received a $2,000,000 salary for his participation – meaning that this one fight was worth $5 m of the $6.1 m paid out at UFC 202 to fighters.
This salary is pre-tax and does not include any sponsorship fees, bonuses or pay-per-view cuts, which may have been paid in to McGregor in addition to this fee.
The previous record was US$2.5 m set by Brock Lesnar, who needed to be tempted away from WWE for one fight at UFC 200.
