The first person to row across the entire Indian Ocean from mainland Australia to mainland Africa is Erden Eruç (Turkey), who rowed his boat Around-n-Over across the ocean, between 13 July 2010 and 20 April 2011.

Although others have rowed the Indian Ocean from Australia to Mauritius, Seychelles or Madagascar, Erden is the first person to row across the entire ocean from Australia to mainland Africa. Erden completed this journey as part of his record-breaking first solo circumnavigation of the globe using human power.
