CrossFire, the online first-person shooter videogame (FPS), had an average of 46.6 million monthly active users in 2016, according to SuperData. This put it behind only League of Legends as the most played multiplayer online game overall (100.4 million). Launched by the South Korean company Smilegate in 2007, CrossFire was reported to have 500 million registered players by April 2016. By comparison, Activision’s FPS blockbuster Destiny had around 25 million.
