The tallest stack of chairs is 5.205 m (17 ft), achieved by Jay Ehsan (UK) in Manchester, UK, on 22 April 2021.
The stack took around 45 minutes to build. During the attempt a number of chairs fell and broke, but Jay was eventually able to reach the desired height.
He has always wanted to "do something different" and take on a big challenge. He says this record is not only for himself, but for his company, city and country. He previously participated in a successful attempt for the tallest stack of tortillas, in 2017.
