Adil Rashid (England) conceded 163 runs in 34 wicket-less overs during the First Test against Pakistan at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on 13–14 October 2015... although the leg-spinner bounced back from his first-innings disappointment to claim five wickets for 64 runs in Pakistan's second innings.

Rashid beat Bryce McGain (Australia), whose bowling analysis of 18-0-149-0 (18 overs, 0 maidens, 149 runs, 0 wickets) against South Africa in 2009 was previously the worst performance on Test debut. NB: "worst" is calculated by runs scored without taking a wicket, irrespective of economy rate. In this instance, McGain's economy rate was 8.27 (the second-worst in Test history), compared with Rashid's 4.79.

Alongside Moeen Ali (30-2-121-0), England's primary spinners went for 284 runs in 64 wicket-less overs - the worst return for a spin duo in Test match history.

Rashid conceded 16 fours and three sixes in his 34 overs.
