Most videogame sequels released in a year

Following its initial release on 8 August 2014 for PC (and later for mobiles), the point-and-click survival horror videogame Five Nights at Freddy's (Scott Cawthon, 2014) enjoyed three further full-sized sequels released in less than a year: Five Nights at Freddy's 2 on 10 November 2014, Five Nights at Freddy's 3 on 3 March 2015and Five Nights at Freddy's 4 on 23 July 2015.

Since then, there have been 14 more games in the series, the most recent being Five Nights at Freddy's: Help Wanted 2 (Steel Wool Studios, 2023). Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic is due out in June 2025.

So far, the only year there hasn’t been a new Five Nights at Freddy’s game is 2020.
