First pixel art made in Minecraft

With its images created from individual squares of colour, pixel art is a natural fit for the blocky world of Minecraft. Two-and-a-half hours after the game’s alpha version release on 17 May 2009, TIGSource forum user “jwaap” posted a pixel art recreation of Nintendo’s Mario.
