In 2004, Darío Bracali (Argentina, b. 8 December 1972, disappeared May 2008) became the first person to have climbed the 12 highest mountains in the Andes, all of them above 6,600 m (21,653 ft). Darío Bracali died in 2008, during an attempt to summit Dhaulagiri I (8,167 m; 26,794 ft), the world’s seventh-tallest mountain.
