Built by Konami to be "the best game engine in the world", the Fox Engine is designed to make it easier for the publisher to develop games across-platforms and console generations with ease. The engine made its console debut in 2013 with the console release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2014, but first came to the PC title with the release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on 18 December 2014. The PC release of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes brought a number of visual upgrades over the well-received PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game in terms of lighting and draw distances.
