The most medals won at the IAAF World Indoor Championships by a male athlete is six, achieved by Javier Sotomayor (Cuba) in the high jump from 1985 to 1999 and Chris Brown (The Bahamas) in the 400 m and 4 x 400 m relay from 2006 to 2016. Sotomayor won four golds, one silver medal and one bronze, which was shared with Aleksey Yemelin in 1991. Brown won one gold, two silvers and three bronze.
