In August 1972, the first coin-operated Pong machine was fitted at Andy Capp’s Tavern in Sunnyvale, California, USA, a local bar to Atari's headquarters often visited by Pong's creators Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney (both USA). It proved to be an instant hit with the punters and went on to sell 35,000 units.
