South Africa won the match 44-21 with Jannie de Beer scoring 34 of South Africa's points. This was also the record for 'Most drop goals scored in a rugby union international (individual)', but this was beaten when Konstantin Rachkov (Russia) kicked six drop goals whilst playing for Russia in a Six Nations B game against Spain in Mallorca, Spain, on 16 February 2003.
