The most points scored in a Rugby Union World Cup tournament by an individual is 126 and was achieved by Grant Fox (New Zealand) at the 1987 Rugby Union World Cup. He hit 30 conversions, 21 penalties and a drop goal in six matches, helping the All Blacks to the first ever World Cup title.
This was the very first Rugby Union World Cup, some 33 years after the equivalent tournament was contested in Rugby League. Fox's New Zealand were co-hosts for the tournament along with neighbours Australia and ended up winning the tournament, beating France in the final 29–9. Fox did it all with the boot, failing to score a try but kicking 21 penalties, 30 conversions and one drop goal.
His nearest rival is England's Jonny Wilkinson (UK), who scored 113 point while helping England to lift the 2003 Rugby Union World Cup trophy.
