According to US military officials, North Korea has the largest special operations force. It consists of around 60,000 personnel and around 130,000 personnel with Special Forces-like characteristics. According to the International Institute for Strategic Studies in its 2011 Military Balance report, North Korea possesses a Special Purpose Forces Command of 88,000 troops, while the USA has, according to the USSOCOM 2013 Fact Book, a total of around 58,000 drawn from army, navy, air force and marine personnel as well as Department of Defense civilians.
