The youngest winner of the FIFA World Cup is Pelé (Brazil) aged 17 years 249 days at the Råsunda Stadium, Solna, Sweden, on 29 June 1958.

Brazil won the match 5-2 it was their first ever World Cup triumph coming eight years after the heartache of failing to win the tournament at home when they lost to Uruguay in Rio de Janeiro. Sweden remain the only side to have lost the World Cup Final at home. The closest rival to Pelé´s record is Ronaldo who was in the 1994 Brazil squad that beat Italy in the World Cup Final - he was almost two months older than Pelé but remains the only other 17-year-old to be part of a World Cup winning squad.
