According to VGChartz.com Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Infinity Ward/Sledgehammer Games, 2011) has sold 9.3 million units as of 8 November 2011. The game's publisher, Activision, claim that the title sold 6.5 million units in the UK and North America on launch day alone, making it not just the fastest-selling first-person shooter (FPS) videogame but the fastest-selling videogame of any kind.
