The most career ranking titles won in snooker is 41, achieved by Ronnie O’Sullivan (UK) between 28 November 1993 and 21 January 2024.
O’Sullivan won the 2024 World Grand Prix to extend his record of ranking title victories, defeating Judd Trump 10–7 in the final in Leicester, East Midlands, UK.
World rankings were first introduced in 1976, initially based on the results from the previous three World Championships. The first ranking event was therefore the 1974 World Championship, won by Ray Reardon.
O’Sullivan won his first ranking title at the 1993 UK Championships, aged 17 years 358 days, the youngest ever to do so. He surpassed Stephen Hendry’s record of 36 ranking titles with his world championship title in 2020.
