Miguel Vazquez (Mexico) of the Flying Vazquez is the first flyer to have successfully completed a quadruple back somersault from trapeze to catcher. The event occurred in Tucson, Arizona, USA, on 10 July 1982, during a performance of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus. Miguel was seventeen, and his catcher was his brother Juan, who was thirty-one at the time. Miguel and Juan Vazquez performed the trick regularly until the mid-1990s.
