First swimmer to win Olympic pool and open water gold medals

At the London Olympic Games in 2012, Oussama Mellouli (Tunisia) won bronze in the 1,500 m freestyle at the Aquatics Centre on 4 August and, six days later, gold in the open water 10 km marathon in Hyde Park to become the first swimmer to win pool and open water swimming medals at one Olympic Games.
Mellouli, 28, was the defending Olympic champion in the 1,500 m freestyle.
Mellouli won the open water 10 km race in a time of 1 hr 49 min 55.1 sec.
