The “breathing, cries and coos” of Blue Ivy Carter, the daughter of musical superstars Beyoncé and Jay-Z (all USA), appeared on the newly recorded track “Glory”, credited to Jay-Z featuring B.I.C., which debuted on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart just days after Blue Ivy’s birth on 7 January 2012. “Glory” bowed at No.74 on the chart dated 21 January 2012 – officially making her 14 days old at the time – although Billboard first announced the news on 11 January, when Blue Ivy was just four days old.
Stevie Wonder’s new-born daughter Aisha was uncredited on his 1977 hit “Isn’t She Lovely”, and the song first appeared on a Billboard chart almost two years after her birth – both factors that rule out Aisha as a contender to Blue Ivy’s US chart record.
“Glory” was Jay-Z’s 107th career entry on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, mirroring Blue Ivy’s 7 January birth date (1/07/2012).
Blue Ivy went on to become the youngest female Hot 100 chart entrant at 7 years 208 days old when Beyoncé’s “BROWN SKIN GIRL” debuted at No.76 on 3 August 2019, only to pass on the title to her little sister Rumi (b. 13 June 2017), who was credited alongside her mother on “Protector” – a new entry at No.42 on 13 April 2024 – when she was 6 years 305 days old.
