Largest airport building by floor space

Measuring 1,185,000 m2 (12.76 million sq ft), Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport is the world’s largest airport building by floor space. Originally opened on 14 October 2008, the terminal boosted the handling capacity of Dubai International Airport to 60 million passengers per year. The total built-up area of the terminal is equivalent in size to 94 football fields and features 158 check-in desks. A dedicated airside facility for the new A380 aircraft, known as Concourse 3, is currently under construction and is expected to be completed in 2012. It will raise the handling capacity of the airport to 75 million passengers per year.
