Over 100 doggies sat simultaneously for an adorable record - could your good boy?

122 adorable pooches gathered for a Dogs and Fun Fair in Dortmund, Germany this May – and these cuties didn’t just go home with a treat, but also a new world record title!
Sponsored by the James Wellbeloved pet food brand, dozens of happy dogs and their owners showed up to the annual funfair to spend a fun day bonding with other animal lovers, shopping for new pet supplies, and taking part in a Guinness World Records attempt for most dogs sitting simultaneously.
After James Wellbeloved launched their UK-based pet food in Germany, the brand quickly became popular because of its natural, hypoallergenic recipes that suit all dogs from big to small. So they teamed up with the German Kennel Club (VDH) to take part in a classic feeding ritual – convincing dogs to sit and wait while their owners prepare a delicious bowl of food!
Together, their campaign symbolizes this special moment of joy and trust, and aims to highlight the importance of balanced, natural nutrition for our beloved four-legged companions.
In anticipation for the event, the dogs were invited into a giant room, where they were bribed with treats and scratches while they investigated all the exciting new smells.
After the total number of participants (and pups!) were counted, everybody was lined up and their owners practised patiently waiting with their pets.
At the count, all the dogs were commanded to sit (or “sitz!” in German), and after some excitement, a room full of puppies sat still for 30 seconds while officials made sure everyone was obeying orders.
Miraculously – or through the power of a nutritious meal – all the dogs successfully sat for 30 seconds, allowing James Wellbeloved to take home the title!
Guinness World Records Adjudicator Seyda Subasi-Gemici presented the proud organizers with an official record certificate before all the pleased pooches and pet lovers, and the room was filled with excitement on such a memorable occasion.
“It is truly amazing to set a new Guinness World Records title with the power of so many dogs and their humans,” said representatives for the company.
And all the participants in the room were thrilled that their well-behaved dogs could make history – and get some tasty snacks.
“This demonstrates that animals are also capable of extraordinary achievements and can break or set world records!” said Adjudicator Seyda.
Congratulations to all who participated in this adorable attempt – you are Officially Amazing!
